The 2021 Rhode Island Statewide Building Codes (SBC) are now in effect.
Rhode Island has adopted and amended certain 2018 International Codes.
As of May 1, 2022: All permit applications must comply with the 2021 RI Statewide Codes.
No new permits will be accepted if designed under previous Codes.
